- We are recruiting Band 7 Senior Nurses to work in Redbridge, London.
Job Description: Responsible for patients on their caseload and will assess, manage, diagnose, treat, plan, deliver and evaluate care. They will demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients and provide support to families/carers provide specialist advice and support to children and families of children on the Paediatric ASD pathway, ensuring that NMC code of professional conduct and Trust values are followed.
Support the team and family in breaking bad news and giving a diagnosis being able to sign post children/YP, families/carers to available resources within the borough for additional support and information. Be professionally responsible and accountable for the assessment of health needs, planning, providing and evaluation of service delivery to support the wider service provision for both individuals and groups both in early years and a defined school-age population, delegating casework to team members.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Duration: 3 months
Experience / Qualifications: Registered Nurse - Children or Learning Disability, First level nursing qualification (registration RMN or RSCN or HV), Bsc (Hons) in nursing, specialist nursing or specialist public health nursing, Evidence of safeguarding training, experience in NHS within children neurodevelopment service, knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders, evidence of a comprehensive portfolio including experience of specialist assessment and treatment with children and young people with ASD/social communication difficulties, experience of managing complex and high-risk cases, experience in delivering post-diagnostic support to cares of children with ASD, basic knowledge of strategies for managing challenging behaviour in autism and ADHD.
