- MediLink Consulting are recruiting Consultant Psychiatrist in ASD Team/Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Working alongside the multidisciplinary specialist team including substantive CAMHS and Paeds Consultants, they will contribute towards assessment, relevant investigations and supervising MDT colleagues.
They will provide high quality, accessible, timely, efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist ASD service for children and adolescents, their carers/parents and families including reports.
Assess referred emergencies within a day of referral in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. As necessary this will include responsibility for Mental Health Act assessment of patients.
Provide and/or support the provision of evidence-based assessment and clinical management for service users. This will include providing highly specialist assessment and contributing to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and young people referred to the ASD service.
The post holder will be a GMC registered clinician responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, diagnose, manage, plan, treat and deliver evidenced-based care to children and adolescents, including being professionally and legally accountable.
The post holder will provide clinical and operational leadership as part of a newly established Paediatric ASD service and will support their peers whilst being an effective team member and working on their own initiative.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will work with other Mental Health Practitioners, and
relevant agencies in the shared management of patients. They will supervise junior colleagues including provision of teaching and training and have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social care professionals and agencies.
Further duties will include leverage opportunities to develop the integrated multidisciplinary Neurodevelopmental service across BHR through service development, service evaluation and applied research.
Experience / Qualifications:
GMC registration
MRCPsych or equivalent.
Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
Familiarity with a wide range of theoretical and clinical approaches.
Ability to provide medical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team and to function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Experience in ASD assessment.
Practical experience in a short-term psychological therapy. Extensive knowledge of the biological, psychological and social determinants of paediatric disorders and evidence based management interventions, experience in NHS within children neurodevelopment service.
